No. Doing one full paper per week with analysis is better than rushing through many. Focus on the most recent years first, as question styles change.
P5 Chinese test papers

How to work through P5 Chinese papers
Start with the most recent paper to see current question styles, then work backwards if your child needs more grounding in specific sections. For each paper, follow this routine: do the paper under timed conditions, mark it strictly, then go through each mistake together. For wrong answers, ask your child to explain why their answer was chosen and why the correct answer is right. This builds the habit of self-checking. For composition and oral sections, use the given prompts to practise planning and speaking under time limits. A parent should look for patterns—repeated errors in certain components like comprehension or grammar show where to focus revision. Don’t rush through multiple papers in one week; one complete paper per week with thorough review is more effective. Keep a log of recurring mistakes to track improvement over the term.

What if my child does not know many characters in the paper?
That is a sign to slow down. Build vocabulary through reading and flashcards first. Attempting papers without a basic word bank frustrates rather than helps.
How do I help with the oral and listening components at home?
For listening, play the audio (if available) and check answers together. For oral, use the picture prompts to practise describing scenes and answering follow-up questions aloud. Time each response.
