Ideas to Spend National Day Weekend

We will be celebrating our nation’s 56th birthday in August! It is a long weekend, hurray! Have you made plans for National Day weekend yet? There is no better time than now to explore what our own island has to offer. We have put together a list of ideas for some exploration and family time!

  1. Day Out with Nature

National Parks made plans for us! Choose from the list of suggested trails and pick your preferred trail by considering walking distance/ time, highlights and difficulty of each trail.

Take this chance to know or share more about our nation’s history:

Note: Some facilities may be closed during this period. Remember to keep to a group size of no more than 5, and keep your masks on at all time, unless you are engaged in strenuous exercises.

  1. Lee Kong Chian National History Museum

If your kids are fascinated with dinosaurs, this is the place to go! Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum houses an impressive collection of natural history specimens, including the fossil skeletons of three sauropod dinosaurs, that are sure to wow both adults and kids.

  1. Staycation deals via Traveloka

If you have been planning a staycation for your family, now is a good time to book that nice hotel suite! Save up to 20% off any hotel bookings on the Traveloka app with the code NDPHTL. Terms conditions apply. For full information, head over to here . Oh, have you used your SingapoRediscovers Vouchers yet?

  1. Have a meal together – at home!

With the new Covid-19 security measures in place, we are unable to head out for a meal but that should not stop you from having a cosy dinner together as a family at home. Take this time to catch up with each other, or even have a cook out at home!

If you want to take a break on this holiday, you can consider some takeaway or order deals!

  • Domino’s - $5.60 Personal Pizza Set

  1. National Day Songs KTV

Clear your throat and sing to your hearts’ content…at home! Sing along to the beautiful lyrics of the past theme songs and appreciate how far our nation has come so far. Watch playlist here.

  1. National Day Parade (NDP)

How can we miss our annual National Day Parade… on screen. Stay home and stay safe 😊 Sit back and relax at the comfort of your home, perhaps in a red attire. too.

Even better, you do not need to attend the NDP to enjoy the special offers and promotions in the NDP packs.

And, you can look forward to seeing fireworks and Red Lions in the heartlands.

With the heightened alert measures in place, we hope everyone can continue to observe the measures in place and yet continue to enjoy the special day to the fullest. We hope our nation continues to stay strong in this pandemic.

We hope that you like the list of recommendations that we have. If you are keen to check out the pre-NDP activities and events lined up, head over to https://www.ndp.gov.sg/ to find out more!
