Mini Monsters started off in 2008 as the Education Outreach arm of award-winning TV production house Dua M Pte Ltd. The company aims to revive an interest in the Malay language by offering an interesting and fun approach to the teaching of the language. Its motto “Berhibur dan Belajar” (Entertain and Educate) sums up the company’s philosophy in its approach of developing educational materials, courses and syllabus that are relevant to today’s generation of children.
In just six years, Mini Monsters has grown into Mini Monsters Limited and is currently helmed by its Director of Content Development and co-founder Rilla Melati Bahri. In addition to its promotion of active Malay learning in schools in Singapore, Mini Monsters Limited has also expanded into providing bilingual (Malay-English) educational programs and continues to innovate in the field of publication of children’s picture books, production of DVDs, CDs and other educational materials for kids.
Mini Monsters Limited also work to develop close relationships with organizations that promote children content such as being an annual participant of the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC), becoming partners of Esplanade’s Theatre on the Bay’s “Feed Your Imagination” (FYI) seasons and participating in countless children’s educational festivals both locally and internationally such as the Penang International Storytelling for Kids (PINKS) and the 7th World Summit on Media for Children organized by the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union.
To date, Mini Monsters Limited has worked with hundreds of primary and secondary schools in Singapore, supplies mainstream bookstores with their books, publications and other educational resources and staged full-scale performances and productions for the public in world-class venues.
