In our last series of this trilogy on enrichment centres, we bring you centres that are focused on anything else besides language. We ask ourselves the difference between right brain and left brain. After checking several sources, we conclude that both sides of the brain complement, just that the left brain processes information in an analytical and systematic way while the right brain is more attracted to visuals and focused more on the creative aspects.
1. CMA Singapore
With more than 20 centres islandwide, CMA is an experienced chain focused on abacus training, mental arithmetic and brain training for aged 4 and above. Using an unique methodology to train students first in basic use of the abacus followed by visualisation, there is holistic brain development. Good area to train kids’ ability to focus kids too!
2. Kindermusik
Strategically located at the East (Katong V Mall) and West (Rochester Mall), Kindermusik focuses on music classes starting from newborn, toddler, pre-schooler to older children. It uses a scaffolding development from experiencing musical instruments to exploring musical tunes and emotional development to imagination with musical instruments and creation of own masterpieces with music. Development from newborn to 7 years of age.
3. Sparkanauts
Located at Safra Toa Payoh, Sparkanauts focuses on holistic development of kids starting from as young as 5 months old to 6 years old. The activities also involve parents, what a way to combine bonding time! No need to park yourselves somewhere while waiting for the little ones to finish their classes and get in the act with them!
4. Brainy Moves
Located at Joo Chiat, Brainy Moves focuses on programmes and activities based on science. Developed by a former physical education and maths teacher, the classes comprises activities that include sensory training, games and complex body movements.
5. Heguru

Originated from Japan, the centre located at Fusionpolis comprises two levels which prides itself on right brain development offers classes starting from pre-natal to 11 years old. The infant toddler classes use a range of activities ranging from flash cards to number games to develop the right brain.
6. Shichida
Named after the founder Professor Makoto Shichida, the Shichida method is a long standing brand name in the area of brain development. With four centres currently, the latest additions include another two outlets at Tampines Changkat Community Centre and Junction 10 mall. Interestingly, the company has a Brain Excellence Awards that publishes students according to different colour belts!
